Right to
Information act
Government of India has enacted the Right to Information Act, 2005 & published
in extraordinary Gazette Part-II Sec. I dated 21-06-2005. Under this Act, the
Principal Accountant General (A&E) has nominated Shri S.L.Balasubramanyam, Deputy Accountant General (Admn) as Public
Information Officer. Under the same Act, Shri.
P.D.Mahale, Senior Deputy
Accountant General (Administration) has been nominated as Public Informatio n
Officer for the Offices of Pr. Accountant General (C&CA) and Accountant General
(W,F & RA).
As
per Right to Information (Regulation of Fee & Cost) Rules, 2005 issued vide
GOI Minister
of personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, (Department of Personnel and Training)
Notification dated 16-9-2005; a request for obtaining information has to be accompanied
by application fee as detailed below.
1. Application Fee: The request for
information should be accompanied by an application
fee of Rs 10/- by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft
or banker’s cheque .
In
respect of Office of AG(A&E) the fee is payable in the following manner
· If paid by cash against proper receipt,
payable to Accounts Officer
Cash of the Office of the Accountant General
(A&E), Karnataka, Bangalore· If paid by demand draft a bankers cheque,
payable to Pay and
Accounts Officer / IAD Bangalore
2. For providing the information: Fee
shall be charged by way of cash, banker’s cheque
or D.D at following rate
(a) Rs. Two for each page (in A4 or A3 size
paper) created or copied;
(b) Actual charge or cost price of a copy in
larger size paper;
(c) Actual cost or price for samples or models
and
(d) For inspection of records, no fee for the
first hour; and a fee of Rs.
Five
for each fifteen minutes (or fraction thereof) thereafter.
3.
For providing information under sub-section (5) of section 7 the fee shall be
charged
at the following rates:
(a) for information provided in diskette or
floppy- Rs. Fifty per diskette or floppy; and
(b) for information provided in printed form at
the price fixed for such publication or rupees two per page of photocopy
for extracts from the
publication.
